Sometimes teen phenoms fizzle. Not Jack Robinson.
Highly touted since forever, Robinson has carried the weight of the surf world’s expectations throughout every step of his career. And while it took a few years to qualify for — and then adjust to — The Championship Tour format, Robinson has figured things out, and is very much on the way to fulfilling his promise as a World Champion. In less than three years on tour, he already has four wins, and hasn’t finished worse than the semi finals in the first three events of 2023.
While he ended up in second to Joao Chianca in Portugal last week, his surfing before the event at Supertubos was eye popping. From knifing under the lip, flying over it, and powering through deep pits, Robinson was the obvious standout, as you’ll see in the clip above. We expect more of the same from Robinson at Bells Beach and Margaret River at the next two WSL events in April.
