Everywhere we look, Team O’Neill is scoring.
Whether it’s on a “Maps to Nowhere” trip to some far flung and completely unrecognizable slab, or down to Puerto Rico on a “strike mission” during a big winter swell, Ian Crane, Brett Barley and co have consistently been in the right place at the exact right time these last few months.
It sure is nice to be on the O’Neill program right now.
“Strike Missions is a film series documenting Team O’Neill’s surf adventures across the globe. It’s all about tracking swell and striking when the time is right, hoping the gamble pays off and the risk is worth the reward. Mofungo’s power team consisted of Ian Crane, Brett Barley, and Puerto Rico’s very own Dwight Pastrana. There’s something to be said about exploring a region of the world that one of your very own call home. For Dwight, he got as much out of sharing his home with us as we did exploring it.”
While PR is a tried and true surf destination and many of its best waves are recognizable, on this trip, the crew opted instead to explore a stretch of coast that’s off of most surfers radar, meaning the clips in this edit are hard to place. Think you’ve seen that left slab that Barely rushes? Not so fast. Recognize that wave where Crane is punting 3-foot straight airs? Think again. While this might seem like just another edit from PR, look closely and you’ll realize it’s far from it.
