After a shark attack mid-competition, and three World Titles, Mick Fanning’s competitive surfing career is behind him.
He hung up the jersey for good – aside from a few wildcard appearances here and there – in 2018, capping off one of the most illustrious careers in surf history.
And since then, Mick’s stayed busy by traveling, still scoring waves, starting businesses with buddies, and starting a family with his wife, Breeana Randall.
Now, after welcoming their son Xander into the world, the couple has another one cooking in the oven, as Mick announced via Instagram on Tuesday.
The photo showed a baby bump, with the simple caption: “Hi 🐣 💛”
Pro surfing and surf industry congratulations poured in:
“Again mate?” – Gabriel Medina
“Oh damn… congrats daddy.” – Strider Wasilewski
“Congrats 💛💛” – Stephanie Gilmore
In a recent feature from CEO Magazine. Fanning talked about his life and career post shark attack at Jeffreys Bay, South Africa in 2015, his business ventures (including beer and soft-top brands), and his blossoming young family.
Regarding which, he put forth this vision for the future:
“Over the next 20 years, I want to take my family on surfing trips and do as little work as possible. I’d love to show them the world that I was lucky enough to explore as a professional surfer.”
Now, him and his wife will have one more in tow. More to come?
