Longboard legend Joel Tudor says that “adding more foam to your program” is the key to surfing more and for longer.
To bring practical boards to the people, Tudor launched a new surfboard company called The Huevo Club Surfboards, aka THC Surfboards.
His mission is “to build quality eggs for practical surfing.” In the video below, he talks about boards and how to extend your surfing life.

LogRap shared the video above, which was shot on the East Coast late last summer.
“We talked about his current quiver of boards, what it’s like having his own board factory, and most importantly, how to transition your surf life into the next chapter,” LogRap wrote in the caption.
Standing in a backyard with his current quiver, Tudor drops some knowledge on how to get more waves and surf for longer. The key? It’s all about getting more foam.
“Riding these kinds of boards, you can surf all the time. It doesn’t ever really go flat and it’s hard to really ever get bored. Riding small boards, unless there’s waves, that shit runs its course quick,” he says.
Tudor adds that the “goal is Skip Frye.”
He elaborates:
“I tell that to everybody. That is the goal. If you don’t ride that line, I hate to tell you, you will not achieve that goal. At some point, you’re gonna have to, like, suck it up and add some foam to your program.
“There’s nothing funnier than watching some out-of-shape dude in some neoprene body-sucked suit that accentuates every bit of your out-of-shapeness riding some fucking roller skate trying to be fourteen, it’s just ridiculous, dude.
“So I always tell everybody, ‘I’m like man, you guys all better buy a longboard or a longer board if you want to have a longer surf life.'”
Isn’t that the dream?
