Sometimes in life, things just happen. Call it luck, fate, karma, whatever. You just happen to meet your significant other at a bar on a random Wednesday night. There’s a traffic pileup on the way to work. Your flight gets delayed due to no fault of your own. Shit happens.
And if you combine luck with a rigorous appetite for surf, your trip to an Indian Ocean archipelago coincides with a relentless swell train. This is what happened to Tosh Tudor, Jacob Szekely, Skip McCullough and Jade Morgan and the countless other surfers who visited Indonesia in the summer of 2024. The difference between the masses and those four surfers is that they spent six weeks (!!) chasing waves around the country and made a film about their outrageously long tube time.
Think of your marquee Indo spots: Greenbush, Hollow Trees, Desert Point, Uluwatu, Lakey Peak, Macaronis —this crew got ‘em all. They hunkered down for weeks on end, sucking on Bintangs and rice dishes, making the most out of every moment.

Edited by Connor Hookway, the video starts out with a bang with Skip and a Lil Wayne song. A bold choice, but Skip is a bold surfer. Zeke reminds us that he’s more than a wild air guy — he nearly gets stuck in a pig-dog position on seriously heavy lefts. Actually, everyone in this got slotted to an absurd degree. Tosh closes it out with a groovy tune set to sublime frontside weaving.
Sounds dreamy, but these guys didn’t “just happen” into these waves. They put in the hard yards. Late-night drives, sketchy ferries, broken boards, overpriced flights. They put themselves in positions to succeed or get smoked trying. As you can see from the results, you can guess what happened.
