Indonesia’s Rizal Tandjung is surfing royalty also known as the “Godfather of Indonesian surfing.” Either way, you get the idea.
Tandjung and other early Bali pros paved the way for later generations to earn respect—and paychecks– as surfers in Indonesia. Fast forward a few decades, and the Bali surf scene has blown up, to say the least.
Rizal has two sons who shred and a global circle of friends that reads like a “Who’s Who” of surfing and other celebs who love visiting Bali. Now Rizal and friends are sharing more of their world via a vlog on a new YouTube channel called IndoMomentTV.
A few weeks ago, Rizal posted the clip above and captioned it:
“Super excited for our YouTube channel launching on 12.31.23 @indomoment.tv please follow and subscribe, link in bio #sogoodya“
As the caption says, the vlog launched at the beginning of the year. So far they’ve released five episodes covering contests, traveling, Bali life and culture, and tons of surfing.
While it’s heavy on surfing, it also shows enough of the Bali lifestyle to make your heart ache to return if you’ve been there before, or inspire you to book your first trip if you haven’t.
Like the trailer shows, it’s loaded with cameos from surf stars around the world, because that’s how those guys role, and that’s life on Bali.
As of this writing, the channel has under 200 subscribers and they drop a new episode every Sunday. Watch out Jamie O’Brien, they might match your million-plus subscribers sometime soon.
Check out the channel here and press play for a new and refreshing surf vlog.
