All hell has broken loose in California as the latest huge swell wreaks havoc.
Surf-related casualties have been happening left and right.
A runaway jetski went haywire at Mavericks the same day a woman almost got swept out to sea, and a massive rogue wave moved a truck and sent eight people to the hospital in Ventura.
Yesterday, San Francisco big wave surfer and women’s equality activist Bianca Valenti took a beating during an insane wipeout at Mavericks.
Surf videographer Tucker Wooding posted the clip above and captioned it:
“Gnarly wipeout at mavs just now. @bigwavebianca“
In the clip, Valenti takes off on a massive bomb at Mavericks. She makes it down the face and then falls head first into summersaults.
But it gets worse.
She gets sucked up into the lip and over the falls.
For a second, you can see her under the lip right before getting slammed down.
Mental.
But she’s alright, and let everyone know in the comments. Check it out below.
Jack Freestone wrote, “Omg”
Mavericks Surf Awards commented: “So heavy!”
Paige Alms said: “Fakkkk noooo! Damn those south moguls”
Valenti replied: “Yeah exactly haha gotta do some trampoline training”
A couple of other viewers voiced their concerns:
“I often wonder if surfers like you are crazy or brave, or both…djeisus… held my breath when I saw the little you rolling inside the wave. Hope you are well Tucker.”
“Whooo hope everything ended well, after all that!”
Valenti reassured everyone: “It looks bad but I’m okay just wish I would’ve made it”
