They are among us.
Aliens? Yes. They are 100 percent here, skeptics be damned, integrated into human life, studying us, plotting for war (or perhaps peace), and we will most certainly be seeing more of them as the government slowly leaks their extraterrestrial secrets.
But here, we’re talkin’ sharks.
The clip comes from drone operator, marine life photographer, and wildlife advocate, Scott Fairchild, and it shows two oblivious surfers in San Diego as a great white shark swims beneath them.
And apparently, it wasn’t just one great white shark…
Regardless, one of the sharks in the video kinda, sorta catches a wave with one of the surfers. Interspecies party wave? Count it.
As mentioned above, this wasn’t the only shark in the lineup with the surfers. Fairchild captioned:
“Wait for it!
“Who ever said you can’t share a wave with a Great White.
“These two surfers knew a shark was close but kept on surfing. There was [sic] actually 5 sharks right by them!
“He never knew that he surfed right over it – but as you can see the shark could care less, completely ignoring him.”
And, as is Fairchild’s style in posts like this, he also added a fun fact about sharks:
“Did you know:
“Great whites have a tongue… that they essentially never use. They have a tongue-like structure known as the basihyal, which is a piece of cartilage, that sits on the floor of the mouth and basically does not move. It’s more for tasting as they swallow their food whole.”
Weird. Shark tongues. Probably a delicacy in China or somewhere.
