Long Beach, New York and Cardiff, CA are two of the most popular beach destinations in America. Unfortunately, that also means they get trashed/thrashed all summer long, and it’s a challenge keeping them pristine.
Dragon and The Surfrider Foundation are doing something about that.
“Dragon Alliance and the Surfrider Foundation will be teaming up on Thursday, August 8th, to host their inaugural bi-coastal beach clean-up, in New York and California,” says the press release. “Both brands are deeply committed to sustainability and protecting the earth’s waters and beaches so we can continue to enjoy them.
“This unique event will unite volunteers on both coasts, working together on the same day at the same time, all the way from San Diego to Long Island.”
The idea is to simultaneously clean two coastlines, with the more volunteers, the merrier. See details in the flyer above. Can’t join in NY or CA? Dragon is hoping that on 8/8, surfers also team up to clean up at their own local beaches, and tag #DragonBeachCleanUp to spread awareness on social media, so that 8/8 eventually becomes the day to rid trash from beaches around the world.
