Two-time world champ John John Florence usually lays pretty low, avoiding unnecessary time in the spotlight.
But we’ve seen a lot of him lately. He just took home the men’s first-place trophy in the Vans Triple Crown, shared his daily stretching routine, and announced that he and his wife, Lauryn, are expecting a baby boy in May.
Now he’s back again welcoming us into the world of feet, including his own. In a short edit by his new footwear sponsor, Vivo Barefoot, Florence learns all about feet.
Vivo shared the video above on its YouTube channel recently and captioned it:
“Want overall health? It all starts with your feet. They’re the foundation of the kinetic chain, influencing posture, stability, and overall efficiency.
“Meaning, that if our feet aren’t healthy, then neither are we.
“Nobody knows this better than @JJF and our co-founder Asher. Watch them run a series of ‘toe-ga’ poses, which is exactly what it sounds like.
“Yoga for the toes!”
The video opens with Asher dropping some serious foot knowledge:
“Millions of years of evolution have done an incredible job. Your feet are incredibly capable. There are three main systems in your feet.”
He goes on to explain details about those systems along with info on muscles, tendons, toes, arches, and a bunch of fun feet facts we’ve never heard of.
After that, they jump into some toe-ga and general foot stretches that we’re assuming will help viewers grip their board just like John John.
Press play above for a look at Florence’s new toe-ga routine. And then, find a few minutes to give it a shot.
