A handful of celebrities have caught the surfing bug. Well…wake surfing.
Over the past couple weeks, Colombian songstress Shakira was riding waves behind a boat, CEO of Meta (née Facebook), Mark Zuckerberg, was flailing on a wake in Tahoe, and then Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, shared a tandem wake with Kelly Slater.
And the latest celeb to enter the wake surfing chat? Kendall Jenner.
In a post to her Instagram Story – you can see the clip above as someone ripped it from her page and posted it to YouTube – the model/influencer/reality TV star is seen wake surfing behind a boat at an undisclosed body of water.
She cruises along, sans tow rope, and even cracks a couple small turns off the lip.
Writing on the clip, Jenner wrote:
“Starting to get my carve down,” with a shaka emoji.
In a separate post – this one to her actual Instagram grid – Jenner showed the boat which she was wake surfing behind, captioning it: “My lady.”
On that post, the comments read:
“You amaze me every single day.” – Kris Jenner
“HOT.” – Kim Kardashian
“Ace watched with me and said I wanna go on the boat with her 🤣 Me too son.” – Malika, friend of the Jenner/Kardashian friend.
Surfing is (sort of) in Kendall’s family, as her step brother, Brody Jenner, is somewhat of a surf fanatic. And his soon-to-be baby mama, and soon-to-be-wife, Tia Blanco, was once a professional surfer and contestant on ABC’s The Ultimate Surfer.
But with all these celebs taking up wake surfing recently, it goes to show how surfing (even if it’s behind a boat) is officially going mainstream. Now, let’s just get them in the real ocean and see how they do. There’s an idea for a Kardashians episode.
