On Saturday, April 15th, a man died while surfing off the Oregon coast, officials reported.
The 51-year-old surfer was found unconscious near the Cove, a popular and notoriously localized surf spot in the town of Seaside, Oregon. He was found by friends in the lineup, “facedown and unresponsive,” and was transported to the beach where bystanders performed CPR before fire and rescue teams arrived on the scene.
He was later transferred to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
