Christmas in surfing was interesting.
In Australia, a shark bit a windsurfer on Christmas Eve before another one chomped a teenage surfer’s thigh on Christmas Day.
Over in Kelly Slater’s hometown in Cocoa Beach, Florida, around 10,000 people in holiday-themed costumes crowded the lineup for the annual Surfing Santas event on Christmas Eve. They drank cocktails, surfed, and honored musician Jimmy Buffet, who was born on Christmas.
Meanwhile, in Hawaii, Mason Ho embraced the Christmas spirit during a surf session with friend and pro surfer, Sheldon Paishon.
Ho & Pringle Productions released the edit above on Christmas Eve and captioned it:
“Santa Claus caught Surfing Again”
“Santa Claus leaves the North Pole for a quick session in the country!”
The edit opens with Ho busting in on Paishon for an early morning surf session.
After that, it’s around eight minutes of footage of the duo ripping super fun waves on a glassy, beautiful day.
A fun free surf with friends. Best Christmas gift ever.
Press play above to live vicariously through Ho and Paishon.
Viewers are always super psyched on footage of Mason. He seems to have his own following. Check out a couple of comments below:
