Hawaii’s five-time world surfing champ Carissa Moore has been putting in some tube time lately.
She competed in the 2023 Vans Pipe Masters and finished in third place. Last week, she surfed in Da Hui’s Backdoor Shootout on team “A New Earth Project” with Koa Smith, Shayden Pacarro, Matahi Drollet, and Jamie O’Brien.
With a long winter ahead and a spot secured in the upcoming Olympics at Teahupo’o, it’s the perfect time for a few new boards, like the quiver in the post below.
Yesterday, she took to social media to unveil her new quiver, writing:
“This years quiver inspired by my 2006 @nssasurf Nationals board. Big thank you to @matt_biolos the team @lostsurfboards @gianbernini for recreating this blast from the past. Mahalo to my family of sponsors for the continued love and support.
“Excited for the season ahead. @redbull @hurley @cpb_hawaii @fcs_surf @sunbum @gomacro @ouraring @honolulugmc“
In the post above, Moore shows off seven new boards with the same board art as a board she surfed in the 2006 National Scholastic Surfing Association nationals.
Although there was whispers that she’d bow out of this year’s Championship Tour following the controversial world title loss to Floridian Caroline Marks last year, the post suggests otherwise.
The surf world shared the stoke with her. Check out some of the comments below:
Nathan Florence: “Those are sick”
Shane Dorian: “Heck yeah Riss love it”
Peter King “Looks epic”
Joel Centeio: “So rad!!!”
Jack Robinson: “Yea bring it back!!!”
Caroline Marks: “Love it 🇺🇸”
Erin Brooks: “Those are sick!!”
Coco Ho: “Ooo I’ll never forget those!!! Hahaha”
Mike Parsons: “Wow!! those look awesome.”
