Between their “Strike Missions” and “Maps to Nowhere” series, the O’Neill team has been scoring basically nonstop these last 12-months.
So it makes sense that they were due for a skunk. Because even the best laid plans veer of course eventually. Which is exactly what happened to Ian Crane, Brett Barley, Noah Wegrich, and Kolohe Andino in Peru recently.
“What seemed to be an epic forecast with a game plan of non-stop surf quickly shifted to a laid-back surf trip with the boys, riding whatever felt right for the day and learning to appreciate the beauty that Peru had to offer,” writes O’Neill in the description of their latest episode. “The running joke that we, as surfers, all know and have learned to laugh at: ‘Tomorrow will be the day’ was something we incorporated into our daily vocabulary.”
They flew to Peru in search of firing left tubes, but instead found long soft walls, bowly sections, and a bunch of sick ramps. Still a super fun trip, and it makes for an entertaining watch.
Like the famous saying goes: One man’s skunk is another man’s score.
Or something like that?
