It must be fun to have a shaper as a parent when you’re a surf-stoked grom.
Boards for birthdays. Boards for the holidays. Hell, probably even boards just because it’s a Tuesday.
So it must be pretty sweet to call Lost Surfboards’ head shaper, Matt “Mayhem” Biolos, “dad.” And in the clip below, we see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Biolos posted the clip above in a full-blown proud dad moment.
It shows his son, River, surfing at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch.
Biolos captioned the post:
“So many amazingly cool rides from everyone today, but first things first. Here’s a couple of phone clips of my son, @river_biolos, from the back of the jet ski.
“So very proud of his nonchalant progression as a young surfer and using the extraordinary opportunities he’s been given to full advantage.
“Looking like a seasoned vet at just 14 years old, extracting maximum tube time, on back-to-back waves, today.
“Rivers riding a 5’5” 18” 2.20” 22.50liter #3. OStubDriver that he shaped himself.”
The clips show River, a regular footer, going right at the California wave pool.
In the first clip, he gets a triple barrel, and in the second, a double barrel.
Nice work kid.
River got some serious love back from notable people in the surf world:

Cheyne Horan commented: “It’s called Loving Surfing… your a bigger Grom than them @matt_biolos“
