Rarely, these days, do surf squabbles actually lead to blows.
At certain spots, with prevalent localism or perhaps just an atmosphere of testosterone-fueled aggression, words will be exchanged, the occasional splashing, and baseless threats of “let’s take it to the beach.” But most of the time, that’s where it ends.
Not in this next clip, though. Whatever precluded the altercation below actually did bring it to the beach, and things escalated very, very quickly.
The clip is making the rounds both on Instagram and TikTok, but there’s practically no information as to what actually went down. No location; no people identified; no word on if charges were pressed; no details on any injuries sustained.
What we do know: a dude knocked out another dude with his surfboard.
Surfboard to the dome. Clean connection.
As the video shows, one guy is walking out of the water holding his surfboard. Another guy on the sand runs up to him, and squares up. After some posturing, and dancing around, the original guy swings his surfboard, connects with the other dude’s head, and he goes down. Hard. Maybe not lights out, but damn near close.
More blows with the surfboard ensue. Then regular punches. Finally, a whole gang of people rush the two brawlers and then everyone’s throwing fists. Pure chaos.
