All-surfing, all-the-time, all streaming on one channel – for free.
That’s SURFER TV, and it’s now available on Samsung TV Plus in Australia and New Zealand. From the latest surf edits, to full-length films, to original series, and more, SURFER TV satiates the need for stoke, even when you can’t make it to the beach.
At launch, titles will include SURFER original series “Quivers,” the CJ and Damien Hobgood documentary And Two if By Sea (narrated by comedian Daniel Tosh), the social action adventure doc Isolated (narrated by actor Ryan Phillippe), Fish: the Surfboard Documentary, and the festival favorite Dirty Old Wedge, chronicling the famed shorebreak wave in Southern California, along with hundreds more titles and shows.
Surfing has long been a sport embedded in Australian culture, going back through decades, and churning out some of the best competitors and freesurfers the sport has ever seen. All the while, SURFER Magazine has captured the scene in words, pictures, and video clips, and that robust library of exciting, visually stunning content will serve as the foundation for the new SURFER TV channel.
Now, as SURFER enters its 65-year anniversary of publishing, that Australia and New Zealand surf coverage has evolved and adapted into the streaming era.
“I’m happy that surfing fans in Australia and New Zealand will get to watch SURFER, built on the success of the most iconic brand in surfing culture, as a 24/7 streaming channel on Samsung TV Plus in Australia and New Zealand,” acTVe CEO Geoff Clark says. “This new channel seems like the right way to mark this important anniversary.”
