Sometimes, tossing on a wetsuit is the most challenging part of the day. It’s undoubtedly a daunting task, especially if you’re not yet familiar with the difficult yet necessary material of neoprene.
Thankfully, we can now refer to a new TikTok posted by @thatsurfguy_that breaks down step-by-step how one gets inside a wet suit without becoming a sandy, stressful situation. Check out the video below to see how you can make it a breeze so that you can devote your energy and time to catching swells.

At the beginning of the clip, the user points out that you want to attack the wetsuit by getting into it inside out. Some viewers seemed surprised by this advice, with @moonarianna writing, “I’m confused why you turn it inside out.” Others were also perplexed why the individual in the video didn’t keep their bathing suit on while putting on the wetsuit. “Am I the only one who wears a bathing suit underneath my wetsuit?” asked @sidrasiddiqui1.
There’s no doubt that doing your research before you buy a wetsuit is essential. Besides your board, that’s probably your next most significant purchase. With wetsuits ranging from $20 to well over a thousand, it can be hard to narrow it down when investing in your neoprene.
The good news is wetsuit technology is only getting better with time. Yet, in a male-centered sport, finding that perfect wetsuit as a woman can be easier said than done. However, many wetsuit manufacturers are now creating wetsuits tailored for women.
While we don’t know what type of suit the gal in the video was donning, we love to see more content coming out that’s geared toward women in the sport.
