Brazilian freesurfer Victor Bernardo was once regarded at the next Filipe Toledo. He chased the competitive surfing dream on the Qualifying Series for a decade, before hanging up his jersey to live as a freesurfer.
After retiring from competing, Bernardo teamed up with shaper Matt Parker at Album surfboards, and they’ve been creating and collaborating ever since.
The pair is clearly a match made in surfing heaven, as the two keep coming up with epic new surfboards like the Secret Menu Bernardo rips beautifully in a new edit by Album.
Album released the new edit above yesterday on its YouTube page.
The video is captioned:
“Early Season, a short film by Jon Arman featuring Victor Bernardo.”
According to the Album website the VB Secret Menu is:
“Victor and Matt’s newest collaboration. Album’s values of speed, flow and ease injected into a more traditional high performance thruster outline. With some extra hidden foam and slight adjustments to the bottom and rail, this board allows maximum performance while maintaining speed, flow and style.”
At the moment, the board is sold out. Not surprising, considering how smoothly Bernardo surfs the Secret Menu in the edit above.
The Secret Menu was preceded by the Bom Dia, and early collaboration between Parker and Bernardo.
Album says the Bom Dia “combines the performance of a modern shortboard with the paddle and speed of an alternative board. With a narrow outline and asymmetrical tail, it rolls rail to rail instantly, while maintaining speed, making it very user friendly.”
So press play above for under two minutes of Bernardo’s seamless surfing.
We should warn you though. There’s a good chance you’ll want to bust out your credit card and order and Album board. And why not? The holidays are almost here.
Treat yourself.
