As the age old saying goes, “sometimes you just gotta send it.”
That’s what this dude did at Puerto Escondido, hucking himself over the ledge and airdropping into oblivion on a well-overhead bomb. Only problem? (Besides the brutal beating he most certainly endured.) There was there was another surfer already on that wave, minding his own business, and threading a pretty hefty keg.
Check it out below.
The clip comes from nnm.project, and repromoted by Kook of the Day.
Comments on both posts were as such:
“I’m literally dying😂. This is the KOTD post of the year. 👏👏👏👏”
“That guy ruined two people’s day”
“When your best friend gets pitted and doesn’t invite you”
“The guy that straightened out and took the beating rather than risk hurting the other guy is the corest guy ever ever”
“he definitely owes him a crate of beers and a new stick if it broke.”
“Great way to snake 🐍 another man’s best experience and almost kill him.”
Without the snake, the airdrop is reminiscent of another one we saw recently at Playa Zicatela. That one was from Nathan Florence, and it was perhaps one of the craziest airdrop wipeouts of all time.
“I just had one of my worst beatdowns ever maybe,” Nate said. “It was violent; I was held down forever. [I was] twisted all around, slammed on the sand. Just down, down, down. I started to climb my leash. I was so out of breath down there.
“I was able to get back up just in time to take one huge breath. I can’t believe I made it back up. I get up, then there’s this huge lip landing on me. I was so out of breath. The next three were just devastating. I was just trying to wash myself in. I didn’t wanna be underwater for one more freaking second. I paddled back out…I don’t know why. I just wanna get a good one.”
Yeah…Puerto Escondido is no joke.
