The much-anticipated, fanatic-freaking-out, generally “big deal,” when it comes to gaming – and perhaps elsewhere – Grand Theft Auto VI, is the soon-to-be-released.
And the first official trailer just dropped. It features what one might expect in the GTA franchise – violence, firearms, nudity, fast cars, fast women, and general anarchy.
But one thing that’s missing amidst Vice City’s playground of sin? One thing which we were promised? (Well, maybe not thus far, but keep reading.) Surfing.
Yeah, there’s no surfing in the trailer for the new game, as was previously hinted at, and even leaked in footage from a few months ago.
But perhaps they decided to leave it out…for now.
The rumors are still swirling, however.
Per gaming website, Gamerficial, surfing in GTA VI is the real deal:
“Fans of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series have been eagerly awaiting news about the highly anticipated GTA 6. Exciting rumors are surfacing, suggesting that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have some incredible plans in store for the next installment.
“One particular rumor making waves is the inclusion of a ground-breaking feature: surfing.
“GTA 6 is rumored to feature substantial advancements in water physics, revolutionizing how water behaves and interacts within the game world.
“While water previously served as a mere backdrop in previous GTA titles, this time it is expected to take on a more active role.
“Speculations suggest that players will witness more realistic waves, improved swimming mechanics, and a lifelike interaction between objects and water.
“The most exciting revelation from the leaks is the potential inclusion of surfing, a first for the GTA series.
“If implemented, players would have the thrilling opportunity to take to the waters of the fictionalized Vice City and ride the waves.”
So, amidst a drug deal in the morning, a drag race at noon, and some afternoon delight with a lady of the streets, perhaps you can get a (virtual) sunset session in.
Stay tuned.
