We’ve all heard the cliche, “Pray for surf.”
If that’s what someone did, it sure as hell worked. In fact, Mother Nature has over-delivered in answering those prayers as California’s getting hit hard by big surf and all hell has broken loose.
Runaway jetskis possessed like Stephen King’s Christine are riding waves at monstrous Mavericks, giant surf pummeled a pier and almost snatched a woman like the surfing version of King Kong. And in the video below, the chaos continues.
The Venture County Fire Department posted the clip above today and captioned it:
“Watch when a rogue wave hits the beach at the end of Seward St in the City of Ventura.
“This occurred during the high surf advisory at high tide. Because of this wave eight people were transported to local hospitals.
“Currently the beaches are closed in Ventura County and so is the Ventura Pier. For your safety, please avoid the area near the ocean, as it can be quite dangerous.

The video above shows a crowd of people watching the waves from shore.
A Toyota Tundra is parked close to the water and a Jeep is closer to the camera.
Suddenly, a huge wave explodes into the air and people start running like a scene out of an Armageddon movie.
Someone was sitting in the Jeep because it sped away ASAP.
Meanwhile, the bystanders run for their lives as the truck gets pushed by the wave like it’s a teeny-tiny Hot Wheels instead of a 5,000-pound vehicle.
According to the caption, eight people ended up in the hospital.
Stay safe people.
