Ben Gravy has been chasing novelty waves around the country for over a decade. By now, you’d think he would have uncovered them all, right?
Not even close.
With each new YouTube drop, comes another new novelty wave tip from followers, and Gravy is willing to chase them all.
After scoring a mile long left thanks to a speedboat in Florida, and then getting tubed behind a wake in New York, Gravy teamed up with Blair Conklin to head to Massachusetts, after hearing whispers of a perfect left that forms thanks to a passenger ferry in the state’s inland rivers.
“It’s been a few years since I surfed the Nantucket ferry & I’ve received a good amount of intel on another, even bigger wave in the same area,” Gravy writes. “With some convincing from Blair Conklin I decided to pull the trigger & make the journey up to Massachusetts to see what all the hype was about. This high speed ferry wave did not disappoint! Thank you to everyone who watches & enjoys my videos for all of the support on this extremely novelty journey that we’ve been on!”
While it’s hard to say where this wave ranks on Gravy’s novelty wake wave chart, it’s definitely legit. Click play above to watch Conklin pop airs on a softtop twin fin, before sliding on the skim into a solid chest-high, shreddable left.
Once again, Gravy proves there are wave pools everywhere, you just have to know where to look.
