Kai Lenny is famous for packing 50-foot paddle bombs at Jaws and spinning full-rote airs while towing into Nazare mountains.
But Lenny is more than just a big wave surfer. In fact, Lenny’s railwork is Filipe Toledo esque, and his above-the-lip surfing in small waves is wildly creative, especially while experimenting with straps. He’s the only surfer doing it, and he’s making a strong case for others to give it a try.
Click play above for a raw look at Lenny tearing into a medium swell at Keramas in Bali with tack sharp precision. He can also switch stances with ease, and rip with style regardless of which foot is facing forward. That’s not to mention his skills on a SUP or foil. He’s the most well rounded surfer in the world right now, and it doesn’t even come close.
